About The Role

This role will provide support & administration for the Boston Scientific Network platforms, including supporting enterprise cloud and network segmentation efforts. You will be part of a global team dedicated to network technologies and will work closely with cross functional IT teams to ensure a positive user experience. This role is part of an on-call rotation for afterhours and weekend coverage.

Your Responsibilities Include

• Maintains up to date knowledge on the most recent network technologies
• Monitors network infrastructure for availability and reliability. Monitors and reports on processes, uptime, performance, utilization, and capacity of network infrastructure
• Implements continuous improvements (upgrades and patches) to ensure network assets are preventively maintained, running properly, and protected from security threats
• Interacts with users and other IT teams to accommodate requests for network services
• Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems of diverse scope and complexity.
• Leads troubleshooting initiatives and resolves infrastructure failures by analyzing issues and implementing corrective actions. Leads root cause analysis and takes measures to address root cause analysis findings
• Resolve storage incidents in a timely manner, including acceptance of support requests and incidents from other geographies
• Being able to work independently while using waterfall and agile methodologies
• Create and maintain all required technical documentation per IT methodology and processes
• Lead project work stream activities, working with internal and external cross-functional groups
• Perform or assist in capacity/performance management, trend and error analysis to determine system changes required
• Adhere to tasks, and deliverables; identify dependencies and resource requirements and change management principles
• Appropriately communicates project status, escalate issues, and manage timelines and action items
  

What We're Looking For

• Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years’ experience in Information Technology
  • 5 + years’ experience network switching, wireless deployments and migration, SD-WAN implementation
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, information systems or any related field.
  • English Level desired: 85-90%.
    
• Technical Experience
  • Must have strong knowledge of network equipment
    • Preferred Cisco access switches
    • Preferred Aruba SD-WAN
    • Preferred Aruba access switches
    • Preferred Aruba access points
  • Must have strong knowledge of Network Routing technologies, including BGP, EIGRP, MPLS
  • Must have strong understanding of Network related technologies, including DHCP, DNS, Geo Location, IPAM
  • Must have working knowledge of
    • Cloud-based technologies, such as Microsoft Azure and AWS (Files, ANF, VWAN, VNETS/Peering/VPN/Expressroute)
    • Scripting and automation processes (Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Ansible)
  • Preferred Experience
    • Experience planning networks for building moves/adds/changes
      
• Network Operations and Support Experience
  • Experience with and managing Incident, Asset, Problem and Change Management
  • Strong network troubleshooting and communications experience with users/customer
  • Experience in reporting
  • Experience with supporting and designing Structured cabling both copper and fiber for small and large buildings (use of cable testers, cable management and design, etc)
  • Proficient in project planning, tracking and execution

• Preferred Qualifications
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical issues related to Aruba Clear Pass
  • Experience in IP Address Management
  • Troubleshooting Wi-Fi related issues using Ekahau or related wireless survey software
  • Experience with supporting and designing Structured cabling both copper and fiber for small and large buildings (use of cable testers, cable management and design, etc)
  • Packet capture analysis and troubleshooting using wireshark and SPAN ports
  • Ability to draw logical and physical network diagrams using Visio
